About Dr. Jim Stoppani
Jim Stoppani, PhD, is a leading authority on exercise science, sports nutrition, and supplementation. Over the past 15 years, he has helped millions of people change their lives through science-based nutrition and supplement plans, as well as expertly designed training programs.
He received his doctorate in exercise physiology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Connecticut. After graduation, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the John B. Pierce Laboratory and Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine, studying the effects of exercise and diet on gene regulation in muscle tissue. In 2002, he was honored with the Gatorade Beginning Investigator in Exercise Science Award by the American Physiological Society for his groundbreaking research.
Following his time at Yale, Dr. Stoppani joined the editorial staff at a major fitness publication, serving as Senior Science Editor for multiple magazines before creating his own sports nutrition company in 2013.
He has authored or co-authored several books, including “Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength,” the New York Times bestseller “LL Cool J’s Platinum 360 Diet and Lifestyle,” and “Stronger Arms & Upper Body.” He has also served as a personal nutrition and health consultant for numerous celebrity clients.
Through his various platforms—such as print magazines, books, online features, and his own website—Dr. Stoppani has become a trusted source of fitness information. His online community, The JYM Army, is one of the largest and most active groups dedicated to training, nutrition, and supplementation.
